This little bit of news is a few days old but in light of the flurry of news and results surrounding the Masters Cup, it seemed understandable to me to push Andy Murray’s coaching decision on the back burner.
After over a year with Brad Gilbert, a coach provided for Murray by the Lawn Tennis Association […]

I’ve completely run out of creative titles to say that Roger Federer won another title so I used a completely inane one.
The world No. 1 demolished Rafael Nadal yesterday in a 6-4, 6-1 clinic and ousted David Ferrer Sunday 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in another show of dominating tennis. The victory gave Federer his fourth Masters Cup […]

The scandal surrounding match-fixing has been talked about up and down the line, but Tym Glaser has a good column about it. Throwing matches, making money, taking the sharks up on their offers and turning them down - Glaser offers up good commentary so check it out.

That Roger Federer added another win to his name and Andy Roddick still finds himself a one-hit wonder against the Dude. (Brownie points to anyone who can tell me the movie!)
It wasn’t even close at the Masters Cup in Shanghai. 6-4: Game Federer. 6-2: Game Federer. Raise your hands and smile and tap your racket. […]

David Ferrer dismissed Richard Gasquet with an effective 6-1, 6-1 showing. After Ferrer beat Rafael Nadal earlier in the tournament, Ferrer’s win allowed Nadal to move on into the semifinals of the Masters Cup in Shanghai.
Thank you, and good day sir. The two are actually good friends - accordingly. I don’t personally know that. I […]

The Williams sisters have announced they will be back on the court at the same time - and on the same side of the net - for the Australian Open in 2008.
Their ranking is completely kaput as they haven’t competed significantly since 2003 but if the Williams duo have shown anything, they’ve shown that rankings […]

Well, after Roger Federer got beat by Fernando Gonzalez, Andy Roddick beat Gonzalez. Sports logic says Roddick will beat Federer, but rarely does sports logic apply to tennis. Mainly because it contradicts so much.
Even though Roddick beat Gonzalez who beat Federer, Federer has a 14-1 record against Roddick.
But Federer’s loss to Gonzalez was the first […]

Bill Dwyre has an interesting column about No. 124-ranked Alessio Di Mauro. The suspension of Di Mauro has been talked about, hashed over, debated and Dwyre’s column is no different. He makes some interesting points, however.
Like how big time sports understand how things like this need to be handled in terms of fans. Can you […]

I knew people started playing tennis at an early age. Just because I grew up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by corn, cows and the crystal-blue sky doesn’t mean all tykes were devoid of hardcourts and tennis balls.
But it’s so much different when you see a picture of tiny tennis tots. They’re just so…miniature.

Just a quick announcement. Thanks to everyone who posted comments on the “most embarrassing tennis story” contest.
After some serious thought, consideration and discussion amongst a group of tennis players, the decision has been made. Congrats on the story by BT:
Once upon a time, on a tennis court, I did something embarrassing. Really, I was trying to […]
