Anger Management for Andy Murray
Ah, my favorite player to talk about. Even fans of Andy Murray can’t deny that he’s got some attitude problems on court. I don’t particularly like watching him play most of the time because I always walk away with a negative taste in my mouth.
Apparently, Murray is aware of this and that’s something I wasn’t so sure of. BBC Sport reported that Andy admitted he was “sometimes immature on the court and that’s not acceptable.”
No…not really. Like it or not, one of the things that goes with being a professional athlete is that the public eye is on you. All the time…if you’re any good anyway. And to have your own countryman call you out (Tim Henman commented on Murray’s bad behavior recently) is never a good thing for your image.
You know - I hope Murray can improve. I like to give him a lot of crap, true, but I’m not some sadistic bastard who hopes he fails. I’d like him to see give the British chaps something to shout about. I don’t think Roland Garros is where it’s going to happen though. Work on your ‘tude at the French, son. Then go for that Grand Slam at Wimbly or the U.S. Open.
