It’s not unusual for the celebs to be a part of the game of tennis for a charity event. The Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic was Saturday. Hosted by Luke and Murphy Jensen, former French Open doubles champions, the event featured the hosts, Jennifer Capriati and Monica Seles while having appearances from the […]

I knew people started playing tennis at an early age. Just because I grew up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by corn, cows and the crystal-blue sky doesn’t mean all tykes were devoid of hardcourts and tennis balls.
But it’s so much different when you see a picture of tiny tennis tots. They’re just so…miniature.

A while back, I blogged about Claire Lyte and her, ah, indiscretions with her teenage tennis client.
After a drawn-out trial, Lyte was jailed Friday. (I really wanted to say “thrown in the slammer” but I’m attempting to be Englishly genteel.) Lyte was convicted last month on four counts of sexual activity with a 13-year-old. Lyte’s […]

The relationships and the […]

Claire Lyte, a tennis coach and an ex-professional tennis player, could tell you just how far is too far. I would also wager a guess she’s wishing it hadn’t gone that far. In 2005, Lyte was allegedly caught in bed with her 13-year-old tennis pupil. By the girl’s mother.
At the beginning of this month, the […]

Singles or doubles? Dating is just like tennis - most people prefer single dates to double dates and most people prefer the singles tour to the doubles tour. Why? I don’t know - maybe because there is more action.
Single dates are really black or white. Either you click and things go well or you don’t […]
