Djokovic, Murray Through to Third Round
I love the two weeks at all four of the Grand Slams. They are generally the best eight weeks out of the year, but there is just so darn much going on it’s hard to keep on top of it!
Novak Djokovic is through to the third round after demolishing Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen in straight sets (6-1, 6-1, 6-3). Andy Murray bageled Jose Acasuso in the second set of his straight set victory, and the Americans should be leaping with joy as Wayne Odesnik beat Hyung-Taik Lee in four sets.
The men’s match of the day, however, was probably Paul-Henri Mathieu and Oscar Hernandez. The Spaniard obliterated Mathieu in the first two sets, winning them 6-2, 6-1, but Mathieu turned on the burners and won three sets in a row (6-4, 6-3, 6-2) to move into the third round.
I’m guessing there are some happy French folks celebrating in pubs tonight!
