Djokovic Out, Henin Moves On
The top two seeds at the Open 13 are gone. And when I say gone, I mean Novak Djokovic and Richard Gasquet won’t be challenging anyone for a title in this tournament because they’ve been ousted.
Defending champ Gilles Simon pulled off the 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 upset over Djokovic and Gasquet dropped out to the tune of 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 at the hands of Robin Soderling.
Ouchie.
“Yeah, I won the Australian Open, but I got booted at the Open 13.”
It happens. I don’t believe in invincibility in sports because it doesn’t exist. (Hello, the Patriots?) Sometimes you just gotta root for the underdog though, you know?
Justine Henin came back from a set down to beat Tsvetana Pironkova 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the Diamond Games. Anna Chakvetadze was ousted in the same tournament after winning the Open Gaz de France.
Ugh, NyQuil is kickin’ in folks. I better stop before I type something unintelligent…

1 opinion for Djokovic Out, Henin Moves On

I also agree with Djokovic. Sometimes, things do not go in our way and we have no control over it. However, it does not mean the Djokovic has lost his rhythm he showed in Australian Open 2008. What I think is that Djokovic is getting matured. Henin needs to get her confidence back if she wants to continue her winning run from the French Open. If she wins the ongoing tournament, it would be a huge boost for the Belgian.
