Harrison Becomes Third Youngest to Win ATP Match
Ryan Harrison became the third youngest player (since 1990) to win an ATP match. Harrison defeated Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay 6-4, 6-3 at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston, Texas. It took Harrison 57 minutes to establish his place in history.
The American is 15 years, 11 months and seven days old and is the 10th player in the Open Era to win an ATP match before his 16th birthday. Harrison sits behind Richard Gasquet and Rafael Nadal on the youngest chart.
Pretty impressive stuff, eh? Another young American, Donald Young, also won Monday - he is 18 years old. The future of tennis in the United States?

Congrats to Ryan Harrison! I have to admit that I don’t know anything much about him. Is he a clay courter?

I’m not all that knowledgable about Harrison myself. He just lost to James Blake 6-3, 6-2 in U.S. Clay Court Champs, but it sounded like he took a lot away from the experience.
