Israelis Win Australian Open Doubles Title
I have given no attention to the doubles portion of the Australian Open and for that, I take entire responsibility. (Who I was going to pawn it off on, I’m not really sure, considering I am the only person who writes this blog!).
However, here I am, writing away about the Israelis. That’s right, Israeli duo of Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich won their nation’s first Grand Slam doubles title, beating French veterans Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra 7-5, 7-6. Ram had previously brought home Grand Slam wins in mixed doubles at the French Open (2007) and Wimbledon (2006).
So - yay for the Irsraelis! Making personal history is one thing but making a nation’s history? That’s something pretty big and awesome.
