Rafael Nadal in another “epic”
It makes me chuckle a bit whenever sportscasters and sports reporters refer to tennis matches as “epics.” What makes an epic? Just because a competition is close in sports doesn’t make it a good match. It just makes it a close competition - both opponents could be playing like crap.
Rafael Nadal beat a tenacious Carlos Moya 6-7(3), 7-6 (8), 7-6(1) to make it to the Chennai Open final against Mikhail Youzhny. The match took just under four hours to decide the winner; Nadal leads the series 5-2 between the close countrymen.
So maybe it was an epic. Four hours of tennis, three tiebreakers; yes, maybe it was. But I’m still laughing a little bit about it.
