Serena Back in Action after Aussie Open

by Erica on March 5th, 2008

Serena hasn’t played a match since she lost in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. That’s a fair bit of time to go by without a match. Especially when it’s your job. Maybe I’ll try that tomorrow.

“See ya in a couple months, boss.”

Somehow I doubt that’s going to go over quite the way I hope.

Despite a somewhat shaky first set, Serena beat Tzipora Obziler 7-5, 6-0 in the Bangalore Open.

“I did not feel 100 percent. I made too many errors today,” said Williams.

Yep, I would feel a bit off my game too if I hadn’t had to put my gameday face on for a couple months. Hm, maybe that’s why my boss won’t be too happy if I up and take off for eight weeks. It’d be too bad if I ruined an athlete’s career by making some errors because I’d gotten out of sync. Oops.
