It didn’t have a pretty start but the United States survived Germany in the quarterfinals of the Fed Cup and will be facing the Russians in the semifinals at the end of April. Time to get scared? I’m going to give that an affirmative.

Basically, there are two words that can sum up the United States representation in men’s tennis - it sucks.
