Tennis to Reality TV to Tennis
There aren’t a whole lot of people who can claim they play tennis on the pro tour. Even fewer can say they play pro tennis, starred in a reality television show and then returned to pro tennis. Mark Philippoussis can.
Philippoussis will be returning to the courts at the Stanford Championships at Dallas from October 18-21. At the beginning of this year, Philippoussis injured himself and while recovering, starred on the reality show “Age of Love.”
“Hey, Grandpa, what cool things did you do when you were younger?”
“Well, son, I made it to the finals of Wimbledon in 2003 and in 2007, I starred in a reality television show.”
Now Philippoussis is 30. He doesn’t have his No. 8 ranking any more and he’s got a stint in the spotlight under his belt. How has his game been affected?
And I mean his game on the court, not whatever game he’s got with the ladies.
