The Flappers
I didn’t talk about these people during the Australian Open - probably because there was so much other stuff going on. But I’d like to address the flappers.
That’s right - my name for the ball boys…or ball girls. Ball children/persons?
I just got such a kick out of these ball people, dressed in their blue suits and - ahem - their flapper hats. They looked like they were getting ready for a trek across the desert!
Now, I understand it was hot down there - really - the hats were quite functional and useful and I’m all for the using of them. They just made me laugh and I wanted to share that with you.
